One Lincoln Plaza - Base Building Pump Replacement

Highlights: Replacement of base building pumps with improved performance, new VFDs, and phased execution to maintain operations—completed through mission-critical shutdown windows.

We replaced all eleven pumps serving the building, including condenser water pumps, dual-temperature pumps for heating and cooling, and dedicated chilled water pumps. Each installation included all-new piping trim consisting of #300-rated isolation valves, strainers, and silent check valves. The new Worthington LR horizontal split-case pumps were supported by all new custom made inertia bases and new ABB variable frequency drives

Work was completed in carefully planned phases, with scheduled shutdowns required to install new isolation valves and complete tie-ins. The dual-temperature pump scope required a full 40+ story building riser drain-down to install new shutoff valves. This shutdown was especially critical, as the dual-temperature pumps provide heating for 650+ residential apartments. NZ Mechanical successfully installed (2) 12” and (2) 10” #300 valves and removed a defective 12" plug valve on the existing piping and restored service on schedule.
